Yes, Extreme or Xtreme or X-treme Adventure, no matter how you spell it, is alive and well in Swaziland, South Africa. Extreme sports are coming under more and more regulation is this litigious society. Especially in America where everyone sues at the drop of a hat or in the case of extreme adventure sports, the drop of a hand line, or a board. Swaziland seems to be the exception to this rule. They are adding more and more Xtreme sports items and adventures to their list.
Take the picture above as an example. This is single person white water rafting taken to the extreme! It is described by its suppliers as “a full day of white-water survival on the upper Usutu. This is NOT for novices and is undoubtedly the wildest, craziest white-water commercially available in Africa.” want to try this one? It is being offered in a country where they regulate the great white shark cage diving but little else so the adrenaline just keeps pumping! Fly down the wildest river you have ever been on by yourself. No guide, no raft handler, just you and a paddle!
Got your juices flowing? Ready to go? You have to do it now! It is available summer months only. In South Africa this means it is just starting now. Remember, in the Southern Hemisphere the seasons are the opposite of those of us in North America and Europe.
