Recession Makes Cruises More Appealing

The travel industry is bracing for a significant downturn in profits this year with people saving their money amidst the global economic recession. There are many travel destinations that are in dire need of tourists, as their entire income is dependent on tourism. Cruises have become much more affordable, and even luxury cruise lines have slashed prices and offered great packages to appeal to more travelers. It’s a great time to take a vacation with the reduced prices on all forms of tourism. For those who do a bit of searching, it’s possible to plan out extended vacations that will wind up costing just a fraction of the price they would have in the past. Employers are also being a lot more tolerant of vacations this year as many are looking to cut operating costs wherever it’s possible.

Find travel packages from the best luxury cruise lines online, and experience a once in a lifetime travel experience on a dream cruise. Don’t expect these same deals to exist next summer!

Popular Cruise Destinations

Let’s face it, the most important aspect of an enjoyable cruise is the weather.  Even a ship with few amenities can become a lot more enjoyable with favorable weather.  Nobody wants to cruise while it’s raining or cold outside; cruising should be in a tropical environment where there’s ample opportunity for sunbathing, swimming, and just walking around and appreciating the scenery.  When planning a cruise, it can be difficult to anticipate changing weather conditions, but even tropical locations tend to have a rainy season, and it’s best to plan around it.  Some of the best cruising destinations include Australia, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific.

Luxury cruises Australia often stop at popular tourist spots and also pass major cities.  For people who don’t want to be too far from civilization, these cruises are idea.  The Caribbean is a popular destination because of its many different islands and tropical weather regardless of the season.  There is a rainy and hurricane season however, so it’s important to be aware of that.  The South Pacific is far from the Western world, and for travelers who want to get away from it all, this is an ideal location.

honeymooncruises-adventureluxurytravel.jpgThough sometimes I’m not sure whether to be proud or question my character as a person, I’ve been on three honeymoons in my life.  I’ve traveled to several different locations, but I have to say, my favorite honeymoon was in the Caribbean.  I traveled to the various islands, Jamaica, Trinidad, Cuba, and had the best time island hopping, cruising, and taking in the scenery.  Because that was my second wife (which didn’t last that long) I can honestly say that the company had nothing to do with it, the environment was just that amazing.

When I was selecting the kind of trip I wanted for that second honeymoon, I started researching honeymoon cruises, and found that a cruise in the Caribbean seemed like the most fun.  I don’t regret the decision at all, it was one of the most enjoyable experience of my life!

Cruising: For Elderly and Young

Though the common perception in the past has been that cruises are more intended for elderly people, cruise ships have recently become inhabited by increasingly younger persons.  This is because cruises have changed from events driven by timing and formality to freestyle vacationing.  On a cruise ship you can eat meals at your leisure, sun bathe, swim, engage in social activities, dance, or even take a relaxing nap.  In addition, most of the time cruise ships will stop at various locations along the way where you can leave the ship and go shopping, sample the local cuisine, or engage in the cultures of various islands and people.

People younger and older have been attracted to luxury cruises for their unique free appeal and the relaxation that comes from having access to all kinds of enjoyable activities at your own discretion.
